Soquel Home Depot on 41st Avenue
This Home Depot is in the fairly new shopping center on 41st Avenue north of Highway 1. There is also a Safeway, Taco Bell and Starbucks in the same center. This one is nicer than your average Home Depot! ...

Great Experience, Definitely Going Back!‎
I went to the Home Depot looking for a few items for my patio. (A few plants, soil, pots, fertilizer etc..) A store associate named Lonnie saw how befuddled I was (no gardening experience) as I looked around the gardening department and he approached me and asked if I needed any help (which I did). He took the time to show me everything I needed AND explained how to set up and use these items. This in itself was a pleasant experience. However, the reason I am writing this review now is not because of this one instance, it is because of what happened on my following visits. When I came back to the Home Depot to get a few more items, I happened to see the associate that helped me the last time. When he saw me, to my absolute surprise (instead of just giving me a simple nod of acknowledgment) he approached me and treated me as if I was an old friend. He first asked me how I was doing and if everything was going well. Not only did he remember me, but he remembered the project I was working ...

Never have what I want.‎
I go in for 10 items and leave with one. Also their prices are cheap because they carry all the cheap China crap. With the labor involved it's not worth it. With the time I waste shopping for stuff that's out of stock (always!) and try to fit in poor quality parts adn items, it's just not worth it. This store is mainly for ignorant home owner hacks.‎

Great Customer Service Experience‎
My past experience with Home Depot has been as commonly cited: great selection, IF you know what you want and don't need help picking it out. My standards for service on the floor are high, too -- I am a longtime loyal customer of the Ben Lomond Ace Hardware. However, this Home Depot store must be making some kind of customer service effort recently. They have orange-aproned employees cruising the aisles and asking if they can be of assistance, or sometimes just discreetly watching to see if you look like you need any before approaching. They are remarkably knowledgeable, too -- maybe they have some kind of training program going on? Sometimes they don't know the answer, but they do go and try to find out for you -- their little radios are always busy. Most amazing, though, was the assistance I got from the flooring person, Vern. Vern went above and beyond in my book, not only recommending the products I needed for my tile job, but taking the time to actually teach me the ...
