Nightclub requirements met!
Place is a great spot to bring a group to: no cover, friendly staff, good ratio of girls to guys, quick as hell bartenders and cheap drinks. Great place to start your night, or meet up with a big group. Multiple bars, rooms, and deck kept it interesting.
Could use a bathroom upgrade, some great house DJs and some visuals, but new girls and half price drinks trump snowboard videos, or psych visuals.

Pros: Cool people (girls), spacious (outside deck), cheap drinks
Cons: Music was too varied for my taste

No Cover Charge
This is a cool spot that does not have a super pretentious crowd. The prices per drink are nice and it is a pretty large bar. Check it out, you get more drink for your buck.

Great place to be on a Thursday!
Came here on a Thursday and it was fun!! Drinks are half off til midnight. Ordered 4 shots of Patron for $16. Thats fine by me! Mixed drinks were great too, and the bartender is gorgeous! The DJ played all the songs I wanted to dance to. There's an outside area in the back that I used mostly to cool off after dancing. Ran into alot of old friends and met some pretty chill people. Oh BTW no cover, IDs checked at door. There is coatcheck (i only mention this because prior to going i wasnt aware of this and froze a bit from the walk from my car to the bar).

Always a Party
The Holy Cow night club was the best club in S.F from 1987 with the best dance music and always a party, but the area has changed, yet the cow remains the same wood circular bar that Alexis Muir built, now run by Bill Herman to me the cow is still always a party. I am currently working on The South of Market Music project. If you have Photos , stories , memories of your Favorite club Band etc. Please send them my way. In 1987 I opened the Holy Cow night Club in San Francisco on Folsom street, which I Managed till 1994. David Singer designed the Holycow logo and originally the name of the club was to be called Sacred Cow as the previous club was called the Stud. Alexis Muir was the Owner of the Building, and we looked at each other one day and said "Holy Cow", then we put a large Cow in front of the building and placed a neon red halo above the cow.In 1987 I opened the Holy Cow night Club with Alex Muir in San Francisco on Folsom street, which I Managed till 1994. The Holy Cow remains with a plastic halo and zebra stripes. contact Gary Bossier

Best Thursday night in San Francisco by far
Wow! It's weird to read some of these recent reviews. I go to other spots on Fridays & Saturdays, so I have no idea what it's like then, but from what I read in the last review this place must be pulling off a Jeckyll & Hyde for Thursday nights! I've been hooked on Thursdays there for the past few weeks. The place is crowded, but not too crowded (I've noticed the bouncers sometimes holding a line at the door until people leave, so they're definitely NOT all about packing as many in as possible), the drinks are CHEAP and good, the bartenders are good (even if they are slammed and can't serve you right away you'll at least get eye contact), and the music is GREAT! Like I can't describe how great I mean by great. There's a lot of typical standard radio and club hip hop played (expect to hear all of the same songs you hear at Suite 181 or any other average club), but a lot of unexpected music. The range is huge and it's obvious that the DJ is very good (the DJ scratches a lot), the music reminds me of Body English at the Hard Rock in Vegas. Actually, it's exactly that. I wouldn't be surprised if the DJ was brought in from Vegas the music is so Vegas. I also don't recall hearing any repeats there (though I'm usually pretty tipsy and can't be held accountable for details like that). The party really kicks off at around midnight (like it always does, everywhere), but I suggest trying to get there earlier than that because they have 2 for 1 drinks earlier in the night, I think until 11.

Pros: The Music, UN-superficial party environment, cheap drinks
Cons: it's a Vegas party except the decor, they should think about a remodel
