Poor experience
My one experience here was disappointing. The clerk there would not let me just look around the store and was trying to rush me out. All I wanted was a USB hub and--surprisingly--they did not carry these. So, I had to buy an exension USB cable that was way overpriced. I cannot recommend this place to anyone. I am not fan of big-box stores, but I would avoid this place entirely.‎

Love these guys.
For the second time in a row. Heron has impressed me. I took in a laptop and had to have the keyboard replaced since my son broke several keys on it. It was also running slow. They cleaned it up for me without having to reinstall anything. Everyone else told me to just reinstall windows. They also got me a better running antivirus Nod32.

These guys are good!!!!
I think I know a little about computers. I try to do my research. I went to ask a few questions about what might be wrong with my computer. They gave me some pretty straight forward answers depending on what my computer might be doing. Obviously they need to make money too, so I didnt press too hard about how to fix it. But, I did do my research. I was able to fix it on my own with their diagnosis. I encountered a few more problems that were baffling me. So I bit the bullet and took my system in. They gave me their usual answer to my question about ETA. 5 to 7 business days. I couldnt figure it out so why not? I had a message on my machine the next day telling me that they had fixed my issue and it was ready to be picked up. Dont be put off by the honest protocol answer of 5 to 7 business days.‎

What??
I lost a key (little plastic square) on my laptop keyboard and they tried to sell me the entire keyboard. Earlier my friend went in with a bad memory chip and they tried to sell him a new hard drive without checking what was wrong. Eventually we were able to get somebody to tell us it was the RAM. Complete BS!‎

Rinky dink outfit.
I called Heron during the week to make sure they would be open on the following Saturday, June 30. The woman who answered the phone said they were open Saturdays, from 10a to 4p. Upon my arrival about 11am that Saturday, a neon ?Open? sign shone brightly in the window. Next to it was a notice saying simply, "We will be closed Saturday, June 30." No apology, no explanation.

Only a hired clerk would be that stupid. An owner would approach the matter from the customer?s point of view. I remember once going to a restaurant early one morning before the owner had arrived. A waitress had attached a cowbell to the entrance door to notify her of arrivals and departures. The effect was progressively irritating. Finally the owner arrived and immediately removed the bell.

My sense of Huron is of a business left in charge of the help.
