Our family are locals, so we have eaten at Henry James on
Our family are locals, so we have eaten at Henry James on numerous occasions. We have noticed recently that the quality of the food has gone downhill. All 5 of us dined there on a Sunday after church, and we each got something different. We had stew beef, the giant hamburger, chef salad, hamburger steak, and chicken fingers. The hamburger bun was stale or of poor quality, and it did not hold the burger together while it was eaten. It just crumbled apart. The fries were hot. The salad was the best item, and was fresh, but what can you do to ruin a salad? The stew beef was tough and tasted gamey. The chicken was cool and rather tough. The hamburger meat on both the burger and hamburger steak was tough and dry. It's as if the restaurant switched to lesser quality ingredients. We thought the prices were high for what we ordered. Service was so-so, but has it never been very good. We all agreed we won't go back. Not recommended.

NICE! by LORI F. at InsiderPages
This particular location has great home cooking style meals. My group of friends and I have met here many times for lunch. It seems they have a large following and if you arrive near lunch time, you may have to wait for a seat. The service is quick and the food very tasty. Due to the crowd, you generally have to wait a while to make your payment. Their sister company on HWY 150 is lacking any and all luster.
