Disgruntled with their own business
My fiance went in with her wedding gown to talk about getting her dress altered for our wedding. Joyce was nice and gave her a quote on how much the cost would be(around $200) and immediately started working up a plan on what they wanted to do with it. After a few cuts here, and a few pins there, my fiance left with the dress and planned on making an appointment to come back and finish the process closer to the wedding date because maybe her size/weight may change in the months to come before the wedding.
She called today to make the follow up appointment, and was told that because she didn't purchase anything there, they did not want our business anymore because they are "too busy for stressful work".
Not only did they work on the dress and then refuse to complete the work, but Joyce's husband talked down to my fiance and and hung up on her.
I went in there to try and work things out, but the husband (short man) asked me to go and talk in the back because there were customers in the front. I figured out why he wanted to talk in private very quickly... Joyce started putting her finger in my face and yelling about how people "always do this to them!". They told me that people waste their time all the time and never come back. I told them the whole reason she called was to finish what they started and to pay them when the final work was done at the quoted price. She was yelling, his chest was puffing out, and the whole atmosphere in there was combative.
I only write this review to warn consumers about this business that finished work 1/4 of the way, and then said they didn't want our business anymore because we weren't buying anything from them(i.e. dresses, tux rentals, etc) buyer beware. I told him it was bad business, and he replied, "you don't know anything about this business"
If they hate their work so much, and are annoyed with their customers, they should try doing something else.
