I recently went to the Kroger in Middletown and was looking at the Heitzman products they had in the Dairy Isle. I was disgusted to see raisins and black specks at the bottom of the Salt Rising bread. Not just on one loaf but all that they had there. The products looked burnt and dried out. The Kuchens were dry and under filled. I noticed the label was from the Heitzman's on SHEPHERDSVILLE ROAD...if the Kroger products looked like this, I don't even want to imagine what their in store product looks like. After about a week of looking around for Salt rising bread I was told to try the Heitzman's on SHELBYVILLE Road and found that the two were not affiliated with each other....The bread was beautiful and fresh and I will definitely be back. Excellent customer service and a beautiful Store.

I spoke with the gentleman on Monday and he found out that he actually visited the store on SHELBYVILLE ROAD and had made a terrible mistake. This gentleman comes from Shelbyville, KY to get bakery goods and responded to me via my web site. I apologized and told him we filter calls and emails about this location all the time and there is NOTHING I can do. We are in no way affiliated with this store and can't help solve their problems. I can encourage people in that area to visit the KROGER in Middletown for a quality bakery product and all are made fresh and delivered daily to over 20 Kroger locations in Louisville. Keep your eyes open SHELBYVILLE, KY for Heitzman's coming to your store soon! Once again, I apologize for any problems that customers of Heitzman's has had and encourage them to call the Shepherdsville Road or Eastern Parkway store for the Heitzman's product they are looking for.

Last Monday I stopped by Heitzman Bakery on Shepherdsville Road and bought a Cheese Kuchen. When I got home and tried to cut a piece to eat, I found it is like trying to slice Pudding, and impossible to cut out a piece.. Obviously it was not done. I don't like Cheese Pudding so I threw the thing in the trash. This is the 4th time in the past two years that i have gotten a Cheese Kuchen that I couldn't eat.
Needless to say, this was my last visit to this Bakery and I think that they are destroying the Heitzman tradition of quality bakery goods.
