Limited desserts...
Following late night eats, the Friday Night Fun gang came here for dessert. This place was bigger than I expected...

We were disappointed with the lack of selection this place had. Chris and I ended up shared a mint mocha (decaf) and a Peanut Butter Joy ($4.50). Total was about $8. The mocha was yum and the PBJ was delectable. I wish the crust was crunchier, because it tasted soggy.

The ambiance had a lot of character, and there was even an old Charlie Chaplin film playing against the wall. The booths were dirty and stained, so not sure how often they are cleaned. It kinda grossed me out.

Our party did notice that the service was a bit slow for our desserts to come out. We thought maybe they were decorating it (like Extraordinary Desserts), but they weren't.

We found a booth for a big party and we hung out until 1215a (they closed at midnight). We didn't feel rushed until they started flickering the lights and mopping the floor. YA YA, we got it and we're leaving!!!

Parking could be a b- here unless you want to pay in the neighboring lots ($5). A walk is nothing, esp if you're comparing this area to downtown.

cute
I've been here twice. The first time I i only ordered a mexican hot chocolate. it was pretty tasty for what it was. and it had a cool design. it would've been nice if they served a huge marshmallow with it though, but that's probably me asking for too much.

likes:
- how beautiful and appetizing the desserts look.
- they give you a children's book to deface as your "number" when waiting for your order
- the projection showing black and white silent films on the wall

The second time I had a fruit smoothie with my boyfriend. It was so good! It was not too sweet and it had a great texture and consistency. If we only we had two straws...we would re-enact a corny romantic scene from those movies. haha

heavenly
i'm in the north park area very often, and often times i'd pass this place with my friends and say "hey, we should eat there sometime". it's on the corner of 30th and university, at a verrry prime location. and you know what, i finally did what i said i was gonna do....multiple times.

this is a VERY good place to stop by if you wanna take somebody on a date. [maybe after getting sloshed at splash perhaps?] the place is nicely decorated, and not noisy at all, allowing for good conversation to take place. they have silent films playing on a projector...and the order numbers are printed on bookmarks glued into children's books tattooed with graffiti from previous customers. i always bring a pen to leave my "signature" while waiting for my order.

their hot chocolate was okaaay. their smoothies are HEAVENLY. i also love all their actual desserts...i hiiighly recommend this place for anybody who frequents north park.

Tasty Treats
I like coming to this North Park dessert joint when I can't decide what I want because they have such a great selection -- bread pudding, tiramisu, red velvet, strawberry, fraise, peanut butter and jelly, etc. Also, their drink selection is vast, so you can enjoy a sweet treat and a coffee to perk you up! There isn't much parking and finding street parking can be a pain, but if you go more east on 30th and turn down those side streets, I usually find a spot somewhere not too far. Also, be sure it's not open mic night if you plan to eat there because you won't be able to get a good seat, if any. And even if there aren't any seats, they can package your desserts nicely to take home!
