A pleasant experience.
From the the moment you step inside, it's easy to see that your experience will be satisfying. The decor, while perhaps not strictly Japanese, does have a very Asian flair. It's clean, neatly arranged, and even has rooms for private dining. The service was excellent, waiters were friendly, responsive, and our meal was served promptly. About the cuisine itself, having grown up in Japan, I find it humorous to see the cacophony that is branded as "sushi" over here, but that will be the same in any venue in the US. Not that it's bad, admittedly, it is tasty and Hayashi was exemplary in this aspect - I give them fair marks for presentation as well. Overall the experience was enjoyable, the prices reasonable. On a last note, the music wasn't Japanese, but Korean, or perhaps Vietnamese - I couldn't tell, don't bother ordering the Gyoza if you know what Japanese Gyoza is, and the wasabi is poor quality - pretty terrible as far as wasabi goes.
