Perfect place for the novice...‎
I just started gardening this past year in a community garden in Encino and everything I have purchased from here has grown beautifully compared to the plants I have purchased from several big giant hardware stores. In fact, they were growing so well, I had so many visitors AND this little novice gardener was the envy of them all! Unfortunately, when I visited my garden this past weekend, several large vegetable plants were stolen! So here is the secret that I am now forced to reveal...BUY YOUR PLANTS AT HASHIMOTO and please leave mine alone! BTW, service is fantastic!‎

Great Nursery, disgregard childish review...‎
Well-run, non-corporate, wonderfully old-world nursery. Alp wanted something (a bonsai) he or she couldn't have. Please, grow up and change your review.‎

The review‎
I recently purchased a bonsai tree from them but what I got wasn't my initial choice. The bonsai section is divided into two. 60% of the section is full of great bonsai that is not for sale for some reason. This is not because they are have an owner or they are being babysat. They are not for sale and there is no reason given.‎

A true family nursery!
This place is not like their nearby corporate competitors. The Hashimotos actually know their stuff. They have been doing this for several decades. And they respect their craft since they put quality ahead of profits by purchasing from several reputable suppliers.

The more you visit this nursery, the more likely they will actually remember you. The staff has been here forever. And the Hashimotos have been here even longer. In fact, you can spot several generations of Hashimotos as you walk the premises. You just don't get the same family feel at the nearby chain nurseries.

I highly recommend this place. They have the most experience and knowledge of plants in the community. And they have been apart of the Westside forever. Would you trust a person who got trained from a corporate manual or someone who has knowledge passed down from generation to generation?
