Great place, very nice and energetic women have given me haircuts for over two years now. Open for walk-in haircuts until 6:30pm. Street parking in various directions around Woodland Ave and that little strip of Maxwell St where the woodland shops sit.‎

I've been going to Alex Since 2005. She was suggested to me by several people. I loved the first cut she gave and every one since. It's a walk in service which is great, less expensive than some generic cuts from some of these chain salons, there are sofas, chocolate, wi-fi, and a pleasant atmosphere. I have referred several friends there and they are all repeat customers.‎

My husband and I used to live just a couple of blocks from Alex's first location, next to Missy's Pies. We found her by accident, because she was close and we were to lazy to go looking too far away. We fell in LOVE with her! She disappeared for a while, and we totally freaked out! When she finally reopened next to Black Swan, we were so excited! We don't get our hair cut that often, but she remembers us, what we're doing, asks about our son(whom she's only met once), and always does an awesome job on our hair. Sadly, we've since moved to CA, and have not found anyone to take care of our styling needs. But we'll be back at least once a year, and you can be damn sure we'll be hooking up with Alex!

I had the pleasure of meeting Alex through a friend of mine a few years ago. Disgruntled with the lack of knowledge hairstylists who could manage my wild and crazy mane of mixed people hair, I thought I would try her out. I have been nothing short of impressed.

Alex is a very engaging hairstylist and her philosophy of good service translates well into her work. She's very chatty and fun. She takes the time to know her clientel personally and really makes their haircutting experience all about what they want in order to look fabulous. She seems willing to play and to help you make decisions about your style without taking over, and she is certainly not pretentious or stuck up about her expertise. She knows hair and knows how to make you happy.

A usual trip to Hair Razors involves a slight and subtle trim (since I like my hair length where it is now and just need to maintain it), style, hair color and highlighting. The procedure varies between an hour and ninety minutes since Alex usually clips other customers while the dye is sitting on my head. She naturally transitions from customer to customer without making anyone feel left out or abandoned.

And how much do you think this costs?

As she said herself one afternoon, Honey, if you wanna go spend $120 on a haircut, that's fine; you can do that. I could, too. But I would rather keep it simple and fabulous and charge you something way more reasonable.

She charges me FORTY BUCKS; that's it.
