I highly disagree that this is a dive bar and the locals and the out of towners get along just fine my husband and I go there everytime we are in Palm Spring and they are nice there you can get sandwiches from the place nextdoor they will bring it to you and the people that work at this bar are truely friendly and remember you when you come back to town. I have been to plenty of places and this has a great mix of people I have never had any problems there and as far as the smoke where else are you supposed to smoke people would complain if they let you smoke inside that is what the patio is for walk around if you dont like it . Oh yeah and Mike and GiGi are the best .

I agree with a previous post that this place stinks of smoke just when you walk by it. You are greeted on the patio by local boozers that are drunk by 10 a.m. and are not welcoming to visitors. There is only hot dogs to eat so there is no reason to stop if you are hungry. There is so much more on the strip that you should just keep on steppin by this establishment.

Cigarette smoke wafts heavily from the patio as you come upon this place. This is a dive bar extraordinaire! The patio has dirty plastic tables and the crowd is up there in the ages. Older ladies and gentlemen gather around 9am to start their day with a cold one. Do not expect a clean English pub. Plan for a smoky bar lit up by neon beer signs.

The Hair of the Dog is a lovely place to go hang out with friends, or by yourself, and listen to their fantastic jukebox! I like that I can bring food in (NYPD Pizza or CPK) and relax in the powerful A/C.......The crowd is so pleasant, the service is fantastic and it's truly just a great place to hang out. There is NO attitude in this place --- just good people, great drinks & prices, and awesome jukebox. I travel regularly from Washington DC, just to hang out at "the Hair"! Check it out --- you'll be glad you did! :)
