I moved here from NYC recently and was content with Habano's sandwiches, they are good. Then I discovered a small place in Old Town Slidell called The French Onion. It is at 2144 First Street. Oh my... they have the best sandwiches I HAVE EVER HAD. It is weird saying that. I am so shocked by the creativity and taste. They place is basically a kitchen built into "Shooters Sports Bar" but they deliver during lunch time (menuexpress.com) and they are open for walk-in too. I just have to say, "wow." Absolutely delicious food and healthy!

Best reuben sandwich I have ever had. You can get it with slaw or sauerkraut. They only serve lunch. Also has the best wine selection cigar selection and beer selection in town. They actually carry my favorit beer, Corsendonk.
