Satisfied former customer and retired groomer
I was a customer of Grooming by Lisa until about 1 year ago when I had to put my longtime pet down due to liver failure. I have chosen not to get another pet but if I did I would take it to Grooming by Lisa. As a former groomer myself I have never seen anything at Lisa's shop that would suggest she grooms in such a way that she or her other groomers would cut a dog. Unfortunately it is possible for that to happen if you have an unruly dog or a puppy less that 6 months old that has never been groomed.
Please read brie88's message carefully and consider this. Any professional groomer would get the pet to a vet if they were cut and required stitches. That's a given at most if not all grooming shops. However, the shop owner and/ or groomer involved in such a situation would have called the owner as soon as the puppy was groomed and ready to go home. In my case Lisa always called me as soon as my dog was ready to go home. Sometimes that was late morning, early afternoon or mid afternoon but never at closing. Then when I picked up my dog she would share any concerns she had about my dog (e.g, found a tick, found a hot spot, posible ear mites, etc). There is no way she would have allowed brie88 to pick up her dog without telling her what happened, what vet they took the dog to, and how the dog was doing and any other info. She would have also cancelled any charges for services rendered to the dog. There sure wouldn't be any need for brie88 to call the shop and get a comment about "it didn't occur here" because all necessary information would have been discussed face-to-face before she left the shop. If there had been stitches when the dog was first brought into the shop I doubt Lisa would have agreed to groom the dog or at least she would have had the new customer indicate the stitches on the customer card that brie88 had to fill out and then they would have been very careful when grooming that area of the dog.
