One of my guilty pleasures is going to thrift stores, swapmeets and garage sales. You never know what you can get at amazing prices. This particular Goodwill on 16th and Broadway in Downtown is not one of my favorites. The clothing and things there are expensive considering they are used and sometimes not in good shape. But the thing that redeems this store is the bookstore on the second level.

Many years ago it was full of odds and ends, and it felt like visiting someones attic. Now it is transformed into a very well stocked and organized second hand bookstore. Even with some seating areas where you can browse the books before purchasing. The prices are good and you can find a little bit of everything there.

I frequently shop at Goodwill. I love getting great deals on 'gently-used' clothes, furniture, and even shoes. My best score was a gorgeous couch that I later sold for a profit.

In addition to a regular Goodwill store and donation center, the mezzanine boasts an amazing bookstore. You can also visit San Diego County's online stores on shopgoodwill, amazon, abe's books and more and then arrange to pick them up at this location, saving shipping!
