Contrary to pegandtom, I find that the folks at Goodwoods are friendly and very helpful. However, their type of business model doesn't cater to the clueless. It's not a Lowes or a foofoo interior decorator's store. They are a purveyor of a variety of fine not-easy-to-find woods, have an extensive selection of moldings, stair parts, as well as a cabinet shop. A place that sells wood normally makes sawdust when they cut it. It's an occupational hazard. If you're looking for a spotless store (like pegandtom) to "shop" in, this might not be your cup of tea. However, if you have a reasonable clue as to what you want, and know what to ask for (thing-a-ma-jig probably won't work), they'll bend over backwards to accommodate you. Just today I went in for a half sheet of birch plywood to make a TV cabinet for my daughter.
