Thought I've never stayed here before, I made it my duty to warn those who would be coming to San Diego to NOT book this place.

Golden West Hotel, to those who know it, is filled with the crazies that you find asking for change downtown. When I walk by it on my way to work, I always make sure to walk on the other side of the street because there are always residents outside who looked like they haven't slept since they took their first bump of cocaine in 1985. I occasionally peek to see who's inside the lobby and I see the same people that walk the streets of the Gaslamp giggling to some joke the voice in their head just made. How many more examples do you need...trust me, these are not people you want to be sharing walls with.

I know it seems like such a good deal... it's inexpensive and it's right there on 4th and G but please...please do not book a room here. You will be so upset. It's run down and filled with people probably haven't worn deodorant since the 1st Bush was in office.

great customer ser....and great prices..and very clean.the front desk was very nice and kind.the bath room very clean and over all, best place to stay at...
