Gold River Racquet Club compared to California Family Fitness
A comparison between Gold River Racquet Club and California Family Fitness across Sunrise. Kids care hours are very limited at Gold River, compared to Cal Fit where kids' care is available from 8am until 9pm for kids between 4 months and 12 years. You pay an additional $30/month for child care at gold river, while it is included at Cal Fit. Employee children take priority at Gold River, and periodically, there is no room left in the small children's room for member's children. Cal Fit also has the 2 story climbing structure for the kids to play in, as well as the rock wall for everyone to climb. Child care at Gold River seems to be treated as a necessary evil, rather than being catered to as it is at California Family Fitness. However, the child care staff at both are excellent. The exercise facilities are smaller (fewer) at gold river. Exercise seems to be an after thought in their racquet ball court converted weight room. The 8 treadmills pale in comparison to the 45 available at cal fit. Both have nice pools, heated year round. The men's locker room at cal fit is nicer, cleaner, and smells less unpleasant. The gold river men's shower is a group shower - great if you like showering with other men, bad if you don't. Cal Fit has a dry and wet sauna, tanning, and a larger hot-tub. Gold River has a dry sauna, and a hot tub for 6. Gold River has excellent tennis courts. IF you don't play tennis, your membership costs still include this, which drives up your price. They both have the same number of racquet ball courts, but Cal Fit's have better lighting. Cal Fit plays lively music throughout their facility. Front desk staff at both are outstanding. Gold River also provides towel service, which is unavailable at Cal Fit.
