This is the only real roller coaster and amusement park in San Diego. The roller coaster is awesome. One of the oldest wooden roller coasters in the state if not the entire country. It is fast and fun with some surprise turns. i've ridden it dozens of times and always have a blast on it. In addition to the roller coaster there are other fun rides like bumper cars, a mirror maze, carnival type games and more. The nearby wavehouse has a man made barreling big wave and a more mellow wave that can be ridden. There is also a huge pool open to the public for fun and lap swimming. The beach is just steps away and nothing is more fun then dipping your head into the ocean, boogey boarding, swimming and surfing. Plenty of places to rent gear from. This thing is old, but in a good way! It's a lot of fun after a day at the beach or a night on the town. I personally like that they're open till 11:30pm! That may be a little late for most families but it is perfect for the younger 20 something set.This coaster is great for everybody because its right next to the beach and doesn't require the effort or mental prep that a newer coaster might. The line is usually very short and the ride it self while fun, is still pretty tame. What a great time.

My girlfriend convinced me to go on this roller coaster with her and my roommate. I have always loved the thrill of a wild coaster but this was on a different level. My roommate and I sat in the front row of the first car and nothing could have prepared me for what I was about to experience. From the instant the coaster started moving until I was standing on solid ground, I literally feared for my life. The old wooden thing was creaking and cracking and bending the whole time! At several points on the ride I thought the inertia of the car and my 250lb body were going to send me careening off the track into Mission Blvd. I don't know what was holding us onto the track at all. When the ride was finally over, I quickly and silently hurried away to the nearest bathroom the clean the fecal mater from my loins. If you enjoy being scared poopless, this is the coaster for you. If you value your life, I would seriously think twice.

It got a handful of great attractions and is right next to the beach. Makes for a great stop on a beach day.
