Gary Pools has been installing pumps that are not designed for permanently installed pools in their inground pools that they install. They have been doing this for many years and Leif Zars who is owner of Gary Pools put it in writing. We purchased this same pump for our inground pool, that was installed by a different pool dealer, and it ran so hot that it kept causing our breaker to trip. Upon reading the Owner's Manual for troubleshooting motor overheating we learned that this pump was not designed for inground pools. We were lied to when we purchased the pump. We were told it was for inground pools and they still hold to their story that we are stuck with a damaged $745 Speck Pump that we can never use. We hope that all Gary Pool customers will file a class action law suit against Gary Pools and that criminal charges of fraud be filed against it's owner Leif Zars.

Avoid using this company !
If you decide to hire this company to install a pool for you, be prepared for the worst nightmare ! On my case they only install the heater and parts that were 5 years old ! Never finished the job...no answer from the owners or administrator !!
I called Gary Pools for service. I spoke with stephanie and paid by debit card over the phone. The tech didn't come as scheduled. I called stephanie, she gave him the wrong address. When he (Jaime) came he put chemicals in.Two days later he left a note saying he scrubbed pool. Pool had a layer of chemical residue on the bottom and algae along sides. There were polaris tracks in the residue. It hadn't been scrubbed or vacuumed. Called stephanie, she put tech on.He made excuses that it was plaster, not chemicals said I should scrub it regularly. I asked why me when I hired them to do it. Stephanie said she would send him back. I arrived from work late and left early for several days so I didn't check it. That week we had heavy rains and dirt spilled over the terraced landscape into pool. I told stephanie I was unsure what tech had done, but would pay for another service. Tech "shocked" it with chemicals. Days later he hadn't returned. My wife called to speak to stephanies' boss. Liz got on, asked if we wanted the pool drained and cleaned. We said whatever it takes. I told Liz about the quality of their service, she got indignant saying she would return money. I didn't want a refund, I wanted a clean pool. I called Gary's main office spoke to the owner's assistant. Said she would have the service Manager call. Hours later he called, said they would not do business with me and would refund money. I tried to explain quality of their service. He said that they were stopping my service "because of my attitude". Again I called admin. office, spoke with the assistant about service and my frustration about the company's "attitude". Owner's assistant said she would have owner call me (Mr. Zarr).. He called, said he was told by service manager that I cussed at him. I told him this was a lie. All I wanted was good, friendly service and my pool cleaned. He refused to hear about poor service provided by his workers. I guess their "attitude" towards customers comes from the top.
After Service? HA!: Bought a house with a Gary Pool! Great initial, " what do I do course", service since abysmal, ring up, we'll get back to you........Three times now over two years and no return call. May build reasonable pools (one of the calls we made over large crack in less than six year old pool) but after service is none existant. Sure let them build your pool but don't hold your breath (you'll drown) for any kind of after service!
