My recent experience by Tamala M. at InsiderPages
I have a Mazda that is about a year old. I have only had it serviced with Galpin Mazda. Recently had my oil changed and since then the car has leaked. When I took it in to get checked out, the service agent noticed the oil cap was missing. To my surprise, they suggested it was left off when I had it serviced somewhere else or when I had it checked out at a gas station. They gave me a price that would replace the cap but I had not had anyone else other than Galpin under my hood or service my car for that matter. Well long story short, they did a courtesy of replacing the cap to resolve the matter. On a positive note, they have a great children's play area to keep the kids occupied and staff is friendly.

Service Dept- thumbs down by Galpin S. at InsiderPages
Took our car in for an oil change a Galpin Mazda and to have a few very noisy rattles checked out.
All of these rattles have previously been checked out at another dealership out of the area (we moved). Most all had been resolved (loose bolts etc).
We drop our car off and then get a call from them around closing time that they will not look at the noise related issues without proof that they occurred beforehand/history of work being done. Supposedly noise related issues need to be reported before 12,000 miles (sounds like total BS). Our car is just above that and is less than 2 years old.
Then we fax in a total of 19 pages of all of our maintenance history. This included all work done and proof of outstanding issues. In particular, when we bought the car, the radio display was cloudy and so the dealership took that one out and replaced it. There is now some rattling behind the radio/air vents that is really loud over even smooth roads---sounds like something is bouncing around in there, a screw/bolt something. AND our center console squeaks constantly. Even the service person when we took it in there said it looks like the track for the drivers seat wasn't installed correctly, which is why the seat rubs and causes noise.
So the next day, after sending the fax, again they call towards closing time and say that all of these complaints that are repeats, happened too long ago? WTF? Totally went back on what they said! Weasels.
We havent had the car for too long, first of all. 2 years. And, everything we wanted looked at had some history to it...and we sent in the proof they asked for. They said all of these things were little annoyances and not something they would look at without us paying for.
Then when my husband went to pick up the car, he was told there is a bolt loose near one of the wheels that would also cause some noise. If you just see a loose bolt, ti

This first half of the review is in regard to Helen B.

why post a bad review against a different dealership on galpin mazda's website. POST YOUR BAD REVIEW AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP. How does your bad review on no name ford dealership apply to galpin MAZDA.

Anyways- I have dealt with Galpin before. Their parts department is a little jerry but everything else about them has been very good.

Worst Experience Ever by J W. at InsiderPages
I made an appt at Galpin Mazda a week in advance and specifically told the service manager what work I wanted done. I told them I needed a smog check and an oil change. After the hassle of getting to Galpin I arrived to find out that they don't have a smog test machine. Every gas station seems to have one, but they don't. They borrow theirs from the Volvo dealership but they weren't sure if they would be able to do that on the day of my appt and so they asked me to leave my car overnight so they'd have more time to get it over to that dealer. The service manager also tried not once, not twice, but THREE times to sell me a 60,000 mile service check even though I explained to him I just had this done (I was at 61,000 miles and I had this done at 59,000 I'm a goofball like that). After realizing I wasn't going to budge, he tried to convince me that I needed a 61,000 mini-tune up, to make sure everything with the 60k check was still good?! I had to get pretty determined with him and would have told him to buzz off had I not already made the drive (with a friend patiently waiting to give me a lift to work). He never called me back the following day. But I called him and found out he couldn't seem to get the smog check done. I made arrangements to pick up the car with him. He said the service counter closed at 6pm but I could pick up the car until 9pm. When I got there at around 7:30pm the sales manager was unable to find any paperwork on my car and had been left no instructions. He called the home phone and cell phone of the Service manager but couldn't find him. His wife was saying he was at work (which obviously he was not). The Sales manager was pretty unresponsive beyond that and told me I'd have to come back the following day. When I told him I needed my car for a business meeting the following morning he shrugged his shoulders at me. I pleaded with him to check th
