I have to agree with rachel h., Galco's has some very tasty sandwiches. I usually go for a regular or footlong Blockbuster. Since I grew up in the hood, I've been doing this for over 20 years. Well before Huell Howser, Food Network and the rest of the country discovered the now Soda Pop Stop. In addition to Soda Pop, they have a huge selection of candy. In all, Galco's has good eats and the soda and candies they offer will take you way back to your childhood.

One piece of advice, the sandwiches and candies are a good deal, but the sodas will run you $1.50 - 3 a pop.

I must say that I am still quite overwhelmed at how much different types of soda this store does carry, but everything I go and buy some soda... the soda tastes like medicine. ...

This place has all the candy and soda you remember loving as a kid. I'm not much of a sweet-tooth type, but I do like me beer. Their selection is out of this world and you can mix and match to form your own six pack. Check out all the local NELA hotspots on my site at www.yorkblvd

Only in LA would you have the BevMo for old-time pop drinks. There are hundreds of obscure sodas, ades, juices, and root and ginger beers available, some straight out of the 50's, all in a beat up old supermarket. Be careful -- if you're the right type, you might sample one of everything.
