I had bent a prong on my diamond setting and needed to fix it, but had just moved to Houston so I didn't know where to take it. i know some places won't work on items non purchased from them, so I went in to several stores for quotes. After being quoted $200 to fix it from other stores in the area, I walked into Galaxie. Kip took five minutes to fix it , shined it up so it looked like the day my husband gave it to me, and charged me nothing! My wife and I worked with Dee to realize a design concept she'd had for our wedding rings. In the case of her ring, the idea was deceptively complex: it encased her grandmother's ancient platinum-and-diamond ring while corresponding to the design of my ring. Dee and Kip improved on the concept, tailored it to our hands, showed it to us on paper and then realized it. We couldn't be happier with the results. And I couldn't have been more surprised at the reasonable cost.

I came to the Galaxie Jewelers for the first time several years ago. I needed a very unique design of a ring for a pretty large emerald bought in Colombia for my sister. The problem was that the emerald was in a natural state with only one large side and a smaller adjacent side polished; all the rest of the stone was amorphous showing the beautiful deep green color of a nutural stone, but at almost 7 carats made it extremely difficult to accomplish a design to compliment the emerald. I showed the stone to Kip Stodghill and we began talking about the possibilities of making a ring out of an amorphous large stone. His vast experience as a Gemologist, jewelry design, craftsmanship and production of beautiful pieces made me feel that I had come to right place. He explained to me the different steps we were going to go through for the creation of this very unique ring. He then began making different drawings from which I chose one that really took my breath away. I suggested to line-up 5 little princess cut diamonds to one side, changing the design a little, but that was no problem for Kip. He always told me that everything he wanted was for me to have exactly the jewelry piece I had in mind. He prepared a wax model and set the emerald and the 5 diamonds to give me a preview of the final product. When I went to pick up the ring I was stunned by the beauty of the One-Of- A- Kind piece he presented to me. Needless to say my sister's reaction when I gave it to her on her birthday. It took only moments after meeting Kip Stodghill to know that I had found the best of the best. Kip took my stones, design ideas and novice to heart and created a replacement wedding ring for my wife that absolutely took my breath away.
