WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE!!!
My first and last encounter with this vet was a horrible experience. I have a very sweet 12 yr-old terrier mix (Murray) and he has a recurring condition that requires a cortisone shot in the neck every 6 to 12 months. We have been to numerous caring, competent vets over the years without any type of issues and this is something he is used to. I just moved to Culver City so I unfortuntately decided to try Fox Hills as my previous vet was located in Burbank.

To start, not only was the place a dump but the Dr. came out and was very loud, rough and agressive, setting a very negative tone. My dog is very sweet and has never been aggressive or bitten anyone or a vet treating him or giving him his regular shot. This guy was rough with my dog and then starting demanding that I pin him down in order for him to give him the shot. I told him that I have never had to do this with other vets, even if this was the first visit. The other vets have always been competent and known how to handle a well behaved dog in order to give him a shot. He then had his assistant go into the other room to get restraints to put on my dog, even though he was showing absolutely no agression. He clearly did not know what he was doing or gets bitten a lot because of his bad bedside manner and aggression with the animals. Honestly I think he needed the muzzle and restraints more than poor little Murray.

Anyway, never in my 22 years of owning great animals have I ever encountered such an unprofessional, agressive, incompetent, dirty vet as this person. Nor have any of my animals had to be pinned down or put in restraints in order to get one shot.

There are other warnings on this site about him and I beg you to listen and not make the same mistake I did.

This is where you take your pets when you love them!!!
This vet office gave me the best care I have every encountered after owning pets all of my life. My two month old puppy encounter two puppy hood diseases puppy strangles and parvo (I think that is how it is spelled) anyways both of these diseases could have taken his life. If it wasn?t for Dr. Girgis being able to identify these diseases after I had already visited another vet who did not know what to do with him. The first vet did diagnose him, gave me medicine which was not effective and was completely stumped. But when I went to Fox Hills Animal Hospital as soon Dr. Girgis looked at him he immediately told me what it was and how to help him. This was the most heart wrenching experience, my puppy looked like he had been ran over, his eyes oozed a thick white substance, his nose and mouth had developed scabs and hair loss, the sides of his face were swollen and filled with fluids. My family and I were losing hope but not Dr. Girgis, he gave us several medicines to administer twice daily and he even offered to do the medicine himself (if we couldn't stand to do it) everyday, everyday!! In the beginning it was really hard because my puppy looked so bad, we visited the office everyday but soon the visits became once a week, then every two weeks. Dr. Girgis and his entire staff were so wonderful, they were patience, sympathetic and helpful we always let their office elated and full of hope. Today my baby has fully recovered and is healthy and full of life, all thanks to the Fox Hills Animal Hospital, thanks to Dr Girgis and his staff. I have three other dogs all of which I only take to the Fox Hills Animal Hospital, I highly recommend this animal hospital

Learn from my mistake and stay away!
If there is one thing in my life I could take back, it would be going to this place. I took my cat here for a simple enema Monday night which they had told me was necessary after examining him. I was told he needs to stay there overnight even though I preferred to take him home, and that the cat will be fine. They were wrong. The next morning I get a call that THEY FOUND HIM DEAD! Apparantly noone bothered to check on him from 10 pm to 8.30 am and have no idea what happened to him. So this is their idea of overnight care, stuffing the animal in a cage, locking the doors and leaving him alone. My cat did there all alone and probably suffering and there was noone there to help him. He could've been in a better hospital getting help, or with me at home at least dying peacefully. After all this, they still charged me over $400, including "overnight boarding"! As for an explanation, all they could tell me was "these things happen". This doctor may have a medical degree but apparantly no concern for the animal or compassion. I will never forgive myself for going there and letting them leave my baby to die :(( Do not make the same mistake I made!
