I had a very bad experience with this store and the pushy employees. When we walked in the door we should have turned around and walked out as we were escorted to a couple of chairs while they took my granddaughter to look at dresses. The employees told us that it was customary for them to help the young lady choose dresses and have them model them for the parents. Some of the dresses were horrible and more revealing than we were interested in,. My granddaughter finally decided on a dress that fit perfectly and we paid a deposit on it. After 2 weeks we received a call notifying us they had sold our dress & they had ordered one to replace it as we didn't actually need it for several months. We were horrified at this news. We were assured the dress would arrive in 2 weeks and they would call me . 2 weeks later they called and wanted a payment over the phone. I asked if the other dress was in and was told no but it should be there any day, I insisted they call and get a shipping date After not receiving a call back I called the store and was told they were unable to get the dress as the style was no longer being made. I asked for a refund and was told that we could come in a choose another dress. After many arguments with these people I decided to take a loss as I would not dare do any further business with them. We then went to another store where we were allowed to browse through the dresses and choose a beautiful dress that we were very pleased with and had wonderful service. We purchased the dress at David's Bridal and when my grandaughter attended the dance no one else there had a dress like hers. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP!!!

i bought my dress years ago from these people adn i was happy with the quality of the dress and the people who helped select it. i didnt feel pushed at all...but i was not happy with the alterations they made...during the fitting, the measurements were taken and everything felt good with the pins in, but when i got the final product, it was loose in areas that were taken in....it could not be fixed....

what made me comment on this business is that i was looking for another formal dress and remembered this particular business, but i have read 2 "1 star" comments, but yet the business has 3 and half...how can this be?

formal wearhouse was not only extremely unprofessional with the woman barging in my dressing room and being pushy. but they also guranteed that the two same people form the same school would not have the same dress and it happenend to me and my friend 2 weeks before prom and has totally ruined the whole experience of prom. she lied and told my friend that it hadnt happend in 13 years and a week later it happened to me. both the man and the woman there are dishonest people. and as far as a business aspect the should both get a new job. no one in my family or that i know will ever do bussiness with them again.....it was the worst experience of my life.

Well, I walked in and the sale woman gave us good advice on the dress. I felt a little railroaded into buying a dress for my daughter but I felt that she understood what I wanted and it would all work out. She promised that my daughter could change her dress as long as it wasn't ordered and I would have to pay the difference if it was more. I TOLD her not to order the dress until November. It was July when I put 1/2 down on the dress and she didn't tell me I'd have to make monthly payments. I was told to come in when I could and pay anything I wanted. Next thing I know she calls me a week later telling me the dress is in! I told her I didn't want it until November so I wouldn't pick it up yet. Then I start to get calls that I need to make monthly payments that it was printed on my receipt. Okay, so it was but I was VERY surprised as I depended on what the sales lady told me. I was even out of town on a family emergency and they called me up asking for a payment over the phone! When I went in and told them my daughter was thinking of changing her dress and they told me that I couldn't since it was ordered and in already. I told them that I requested that the dress not be ordered so soon but they wouldn't budge. I was so angry I paid for the rest of the dress and got it 2 months before I needed it. We felt very bad about the whole situation and felt that they were more interested the sale then the customers. I promised myself then that I would make sure I told EVERYONE how they conducted business. STAY AWAY unless you like to be pushed around!
************Update the salelady told me it would be easy to alter the dress. Surprise! It's impossible according to another seamstress without tearing up the bodice! Don't go there!
