Our move with Flaterate Moving and Storage LLC was arranged on Wednesday to take place on Saturday. Upon discussing the move with the agent on the phone, we were asked to describe œjust the largest items. We listed the large items that were to be moved. We were then quoted a price of $540 for two men and a truck (1br appt and small storage unit move, distance less then 5 miles). We provided payment via debit card which was charged before the movers even showed up on Saturday. On moving day, two men and a truck did show up but immediately began to count boxes and proceeded to tell us that the˜flat rate only included the items listed on the phone. Nothing else would be moved unless we pay them $300 more dollars. Obviously, this was a complete surprise to us; we did not know that a total inventory was necessary nor that the real cost of the move was going to be more then the ˜flat rate.ÃÂ
When we spoke to the company managers, they were very unprofessional, rude and when we told them that we would not pay the increased cost, they told us that we would owe them a cancellation fee. So, not only had the price changed on moving day, the company took full payment without doing any work and are trying to keep $100.00. We did not received our money back until four days later, minus $100 and had to scramble to find new movers last minute which is a terrible headache and really set us back time wise. We would never recommend this crooked company.
