Charming atmosphere/good food and service
We had a party of 10. The service was great. They brought out a desert with candle and sang "Happy
Birthday" to my daughter. The mussels, salmon, duck, soups, and mango sorbet were excellent. Steaks were just okay. Coq au vin had too much sauce and thick chewy skin. I would definitely go back, although a little pricy for the size of the portions. The sides with the entrees looked more like garnish. Over all, though, i very enjoyable experience.

Unbelievable!!!
I cannot believe that I did not know about this Uptown gem sooner, and I'm absolutely THRILLED to know that it is in my neighborhood! Thus, I want to spread the word to anyone who would like to hear it. The Flaming Torch is FABULOUS!

Growing up with a mother who was a home economics teacher, I learned the art of cooking and a love for food at a young age. Moving to New Orleans has heightened that love for food, and finding the Flaming Torch has ended my search for the perfect restaurant. Such amazing combinations as "Crevettes Sazerac," a shrimp and sazerac concoction that will wow your mind and tickle your palette, "Mouclade Charentais," mussels in a cream curry sauce, and "Pate Ambigu," a generous portion of an amazing pate -- and that's just in the appetizers!

Truly, the Flaming Torch is an amazing restaurant. The menu has changed post-K as the chefs have, and the new menu is about to come out. I'm really excited to see what new infusions they will introduce. Also, a new addition which I just had last night: Frangelica butter. Ingenious!! I swear I will keep going back on a regular basis until I've tried absolutely everything on the menu -- and I will continue to spread the word, as this charming, wonderful restaurant should not be overlooked. Their menu IS on their website, and it comes complete with pictures. (Go to flamingtorchnola dot com) The owners and the staff are very sweet and aim to please. Sit outside or in; the choice is yours. And, if you need a dining companion, call me! :D

lovely french food
Since a friend introduced me to this lovely and charming restaurant for lunch post-K, I have been in love with it! The atmosphere and ambience are charming, whether you are dining solo, in a group or on a romantic date. It's a great place to take out of town guests, too, for excellent French food. The owners, Zoreh and Hassan are just charming and engaging themselves, and they are happy to do private parties in their upstairs private dining room which is really nice! The mussels are excellent, the soup of the day is always great, and the wine list is wonderful! The service is always very discreet as well, which is a plus!
