Thinking of joining? Beware! The place is small, the equipment is old and the shower area is disgusting with tiles falling off. This place is awful and they are pushy leaving out important info to get you to sign up. I decided to write this review after getting another false ad in the mail since I am still locked in to this contract and don't attend because it is an awful place with outdated machines and a disgusting-looking pool. The ad says no contract and $10 a month. You have to pay a high enrollment fee and it only allows you to go to the gym 3 days a week. If you pay extra for the "diamond" membership you get a tacky black card and you can go 6 days a week but 3 days you can only access a few old cardio machines near the front door. Oh but that requires a 1 year contract.The ad says private facilities for men and women: this means you take turns keeping out of the main area 3 days.

It was hard to avoid the convince of this place in regards to my office location, so against my better judgment (anything that is too good to be true, probably is) I signed up for an "executive" membership. Their facilities were marginal, but adequate for the $19 I was paying. Then when I took a job out of the area, I went to the front desk to request a membership termination. As soon as I said this, the staff's demeanor toward me turned quite rude. I was told to "wait" while they pulled up my information, in the mean time they helped out other customers. After a 10 minute ordeal of signing papers and dealing with condescending looks and attitudes, I finally left, relieved I was out of there. Apparently my blatant request in person to end my membership was not enough to keep them from charging me. For the next 5 months, unbeknown to me I was charged the $19 a month. When I finally discovered this on my statement, I immediately called up to cancel... again. I was ...

I have belonged to other gyms and not been as happy as I when I go to Fitness USA. They have a really clean facility. I also never have a problem finding a staff member to ask a question to. They are always very helpful. The only think I don??t like is there are certain days men go to Royal Oak and then some days you go over to the other Fitness USA. It depends if it??s women or men??s day. That??s the only think I dislike about the place.

I really like Fitness USA. You can work out or swim and they have all the same sex so you don't have to be thinking about what you look like. I love their swim aerobics classes. You can go to the one in Royal Oak on Mon. Wed. Fri. for women. Or the 30000 Telegraph Rd Southfield, MI facility on Tue. Thur Sat. women and Men are the opposite days. They have a healthy juice bar if you like. I didn't feel their prices were that bad. Just don't get behind in your payments. Once you pay it off you will have a life time membership. When I got mine there was no yearly maintenance fee but there is now.
