Nothing like calling a place and having someone not say Hello FIsher Hardware & Lumber, but gruffly, Hello, then, We're closed... Not sure what to say. Perhaps I had a question. If you're closed, join the 20th century (not the 21st, just the 20th would be a start) and get an answering machine.

Won't be going there. There are many other good hardware stores in LA. My suggestion to readers: find another place and go there!

Although I preferred their larger location to their new store, I'm greatful they're here! They have all a homeowner would need to make home repairs, but they also have what professionals use. Some of the old staff have stayed on from the original location, but they have the items and the knowledge to get your job done.

This is Fisher's newer, smaller location. Parking can be a challenge but this is still a good place to go to when you need something while in the middle of a household repair. Prices are fair, not cheap, and staff are friendly and helpful.

Fisher Lumber by Wanda B. at InsiderPages
Used to be on 14th Street but now on Lincoln near I-10. I liked the old location better when it was bigger, easier to get to and somehow friendlier. I don't like having to go on Lincoln. But...I would rather go here than Home Depot any day!!! So nice to have a locally run hardware store nearby!! Usually has what I need.

quality lumber.
I like fisher lumber for its selection. They have material I can't find at a place like Home Depot. They have material for real builders. I build to last, so I avoid Home Depot-there is no quality at Home Depot. Fisher Lumber is the kind of Company I look for to supply me with what I need to build homes and remodel. If you are looking for someplace to return fans, I suggest Home Depot.
