Just a terrible experience‎
When I first moved to this town, another bank I had talked to on the phone (Central) wouldn't open an account for me because I didn't have a local driver's license yet. 5/3 was the bank that my workplace went through, so I tried there, thinking I could trust them, and they were all too happy to help me set up a savings & a checking account. I asked the guy who set up my account if you could get overdraft protection through your savings and said I didn't want an account where I could be charged an overdraft fee. He assured me that as long as the money was in my savings to cover the overdraft, I'd be fine and there would be no fee. Well, a few months later, I had an overdraft, and they tried to charge me a fee. When I declared that there should be no fee because I was told when I set up the account there wouldn't be one, the teller said she'd take it off for me. A couple months later, they didn't deposit my check when I thought they would & I got 2 ...

First Impressions are deciving‎
When I first walked into this 5/3 bank to open my new checking account I thought I had made the right choice. The tellers were friendly and knew many of the customers by name, Even the fellow who helped me sign up my account seemed pleasant and helpful. But now less than a month later, my opinion has completely changed. In less than a month I was in banking/credit hell with these people. First they applied me for a Fifth Third Platinum Master Card (which they call "Overdraft Protection") Which I DID NOT request and in fact would have adimatly declined IF I had even been ask, which I never was. I found out about this because a few weeks later after opening my account I received a declined letter in the mail. no more than 2 days after that I received a decline letter for a completely different card. A "Fifth Third Optimum Master Card" from HSBC Card Services. Again I NEVER applied for this card. I became terrified that I had become the latest victim of credit fraud ...
