The main thing you will remember about this store are all the sizes and shapes of red wagons and other red toys for kids like ride-on tractors. They also have a little popcorn machine. It's a typical old fashioned hardware store and will save you from fighting the traffic into the part of Kernersville where the Lowe's and WalMart are.

This hardware has a little of everything. They even have lots of canning supplies which are hard to find. I love their selection of little red wagons. They have everything from the little ones that are decorations for a Christmas tree to the big ones for kids to ride in. They have wire and rope and just about every plumbing supply item that you could ever need. There is also a large selection of the higher end gas grills in stock. They have weather proofing equipment for the winter. They also carry Dirtex glass cleaner which is the best that I have ever used. I have not used the standard Windex in many many years. Conveniently located on the north end of Kernersville. Parking lot is easy to get in and out of off of Highway 150.

I stopped in, in search of a replacement part for a lighting fixture that I have. Ironically, the woman working had no idea what I was talking about, although she did not stop until she found what I needed. She asked everyone around until we found it! The shop is a little more pricey than the competetive big chain stores, although the time spent getting in and out definitely outweighs the cost. I would definitely recommend this hardware store. They won't let you leave until you leave with what you came in for! A+ in my book!!

The Farmers Hardware is not a great value since most of the core items are significantly cheaper at Lowes but they are great for finding specialty items for your home projects. They also have a great selection of red flyer wagons.

They have the basic items you might need for home repair, improvement or yard work. Nothing fancy here, but the staff is friendly and helpful. You don't get too far past the front door before someone offers to help you and show you where to find what you need. They are likely to engage you in friendly conversation, rather than ignore you. While you don't have the huge selection you find at the big warehouses, you should be able to find the basic items you need to get in and out quickly and back to your repair job.
