There are way better pre-k programs in Lexington than FLCC
The older teachers are wonderful and are the only strength left in this program, especially the veteran staff (the few of whom who are left). The new Director is running the program into the ground unfortunately, and is systematically eliminating the experienced 10+ year employees, to bring in these young inexperienced teachers and their degree's to increase their star rating. I do put a lot of emphasis on my childs pre-school education, but the environment is cold. Some of the new staff lack personality, the Director lacks the people skills for the position, is demeaning to the staff (to this I have been witness on several occasions), and she is cold and stern to the children. She is spiteful to the parents that do not have the time to volunteer or donate to what feels like monthly fund raisers. And, with all the money raised as well as the bi-annual $50 supply fee, there is an apparent lack of art & craft materials. I have heard that the teachers have to purchase materials out of their own pockets. I would not recommend this program. There is an outstanding early childhood center over by Woodland park, that I wish I had my children enrolled in years ago.
