I've attended several events at the Fairmont from holiday parties to charity fundraisers to a wedding. Have only been more and more impressed each time I go.

Not a luxury hotel by any standard - I understand from the staff that there is new ownership and they are dramatically cutting costs. It shows - it was probably a nice hotel ten years ago, but today it is motel six with better bones. No service - call room service and if they answer at all, will deliver the wrong order an hour later. Front desk personnel shouldn't be hired to work at MacDonald's! It is pretty bad. It is just your basic airport hotel.
