Great Service, Fair Price, Never Ripped Off‎
Can't speak for other reviewers, but I lived here for 6 years and have had a few of my cars brought in for new tire, tire balance/rotation, and a bigger front axle job. I'm a pretty good home mechanic who ran out of time to fix cars long ago. Now I just take them in. I found *this* Discount Tire to be: * Medium to fast service. * Excellent quality. * Fair * Honest * Never tried to rip me off. Last time I decided to use them for tires instead of Costco. They were slightly higher in price of course, but closer to my house (very convenient). I got same 5000 mile life time balance deal as Costco. Never had an issue. BTW, most all repair places don't put your parts you paid for outside in your car. It's bad practice as they can't guarantee the part. Yes, as long as I lived, repair places will charge more for parts they install. And labor is $60-80/hour everywhere at an official licensed repair shop. Go fix it yourself if you don't like to pay for repair. I figured ...

Treated like garbage and intimidated with...‎
I don't know if this had something to do with not knowing very much about vehicles (otherwise I'd be doing this stuff myself, wouldn't I?), but I went in just asking for a fuel filter replacement. I'd even brought my own filter that I purchased from AutoZone for under 10 bucks (which was the right filter, in case you're wondering). When they guy said that it was against their rules to use my part (wtf?), he brought out a 26 dollar filter that would be used. I was irritated, but went along with it. A few minutes later, I was told that some other stuff needed replacing immediately for my own safety, bringing my total costs from a little over a hundred bucks to almost 900 bucks. My husband had asked them to look over everything back in September, and according to him, the problems they insisted I had should've been noted at that time (before he deployed), so he believes that they were just ripping me off since he wasn't there. It wouldn't surprise me -- the ...

Completely Incompetent. They used an impact wrench on a wheel lock key and ruined it, and tried to blame it on the brand new key. You never use an impact on a wheel lock, you have to be careful, and do it by hand. If I worked at a tire shop, I would probably want to know something basic like that. Now we can't drive our car with a flat tire because we have to wait for a new key to arrive. We will be taking it somewhere else to get the tire patched.

The advertised $11.88 oil and filter change is deceptive. I
The advertised $11.88 oil and filter change is deceptive. I went to the Express Tire shop at 13181 Black Mountain Rd on 1-10-2010 at 11 AM for the oil change and was told to come back tomorrow even after I called them about an hour ago. Another Express Tire shop wanted me to open a credit card first or they will charge me more for the oil change. Express Tire employees are rude, unprofessional, and wasted my time. For about $5 more, I got my oil and filter changed at a Big O Tires and the employees were professionals.

Horrible Customer Service and 7+ hour oil...
The people are very rude. You can stand at the counter for 10 minutes without them bothering to look up from the computer to help you. And it takes at least 7 hours for an oil change on Friday-Sunday. If you call and ask if your car is done, they'll say "we just put it in the bay". Then an hour later you call, they'll say, "No we haven't started yet." Then when you do eventually pick up your car, they'll tell you that your car needs X or Y replaced (even if it doesn't). I highly DO NOT recommend going here.‎
