Spent many nights here in the 1970's, met many great people. Most memorable place I visited in Fort Lauderdale ! This winter going on a cruise, spending the night in town & will definitely bring my 25 & 27 year old daughters in to show them where Mom danced many years ago ...

The Elbo Room has been around forever. A must stop if your going out for the night. It's a typical college age bar. On the corner of A1A and Las Olas Blvd., everyone stands outside on the sidewalk. Just a fun place.

Was on vacation over the past week and everyone said this is the place to go. Its a great, dive bar where everyone goes to unwind and have some fun. The place isnt the cleanlist, but the beers are cheap and the people are in great spirits.

One rule of thumb...i wouldnt start there, make this your ending spot...dont know if you want to see whats really on those floors sober!

No trip to Lauderdale Beach would be complete without a visit to the World famous Elbo Room on the corner of A1A and Las Olas Blvd. It opened I believe back in the 1930s sometime and has been going strong ever since.

There's good reason this was the favorite watering spot of spring breakers from everywhere, and continues to be 'the' place to go party among the younger set. They have drivin' music pouring out of speakers everywhere, live bands, pool tables, and just about every weirdly named drink you can think of.

Everytime I walk by this place it's packed to capacity. If you want to get out of the wall-to-wall partiers, you can sit at one of the tables out on the sidewalk and enjoy the ocean view and just people watch for awhile.

The Elbo Room is without a doubt the most happenin' place on the strand.

PROS: A Lauderdale institution
CONS: May feel awkward if you're an old fart like me ;)
