We the people, in order to form a more perfect union.

Two hundred and twenty one years ago, in a hall that still stands across the street, a group of men gathered and, with these simple words, launched America's improbable experiment in democracy. Farmers and scholars; statesmen and patriots who had traveled across an ocean to escape tyranny and persecution finally made real their declaration of independence at a Philadelphia convention that lasted through the spring of 1787.

Never Buy A Fridge Here by Maya L. at InsiderPages
My fridge leaked water all over the floor, they came out to fix it, the leak returned, then the leak went away & the fridge broke completely, pumping out hot air and melting all the food into ruin. I'd rather have flushed $200 down the toilet than have dealt with the frustration of this scam. So much for supporting small family owned neighborhood business instead of going to the corporations. I ultimately had them come pick up the fridge and take it away just to stop the cycle of paying $25 per repair on this piece of garbage appliance. I bought a brand new fridge, like I should have done in the first place.

Avoid. by Leopold S. at InsiderPages
I have bought 2 fridges from this place, and I can assure you that this place is a rip off. First fridge i bought over freezed everything. when i called them to fix under warranty/guarantee they came out to look it. They told me I broke it, by using the temperature dial (you know the one that is standard in all fridges, that controls the temperature) and that i should have left it on '5'. But they fixed it anyway. While it worked for a bit, it went back to the ice age again, just my luck after my 3 month guarantee wore out.
Figuring it was a fluke i bought another fridge from them a couple of years later when i moved into another apartment.
Lo an behold it was broken too. his time the opposite occured. everything was warm. And when they came out to fix it they told me i was the one who broke it by using the dial. When i told them thats what the dial is for (i turned it up to fight the lukewarm temp) they fixed it and went on their way.
2 weeks later it did it again, and again they came out. 'You broke it by using the dial' i told them i hadnt. Then the lady said its because my freezer was a mess (their was a small spec of frozen spinach on the shelf, the size of a cuticle, no BS) but they fixed it and went on their way.
Needless to say this went on and on every two weeks, each time a lame excuse was given that somehow was my fault. another chesnut being 'you have too much food in your fridge' (which was also ridiculous, I'm a bachelor and used about 1/4 of the space in the fridge).
long story short they came out every two weeks until my guarantee ran out, then told me sorry it''s no longer under warranty. When running this story past a few friends it was scary to find the exact stories had happened to them.
So BE WARNED this place is crooked despite what dave l above said (he obviously works for them)

Great Mom & Pop Shop by Dave L. at InsiderPages
I don't know if World Class is appropriate for a little used appliance shop in Echo Park, but then considering that I wouldn't think of going anywhere else for a used appliance, I have to give them a 5 out of 5. I've bought a lot of appliances from this place. They sell refurbished used appliances and restored antique appliances. So whether you're looking for an inexpensive, clean & reliable refrigerator for a rental unit or a carefully restored vinage stove for your own kitchen remodel, this place has it. Hope, the owner, is a very nice lady and always remembers repeat customers. She'll personally deliver and install the appliance with her staff. Last I checked, all purchases have a three month warranty.

It feels good to support a small local business, but it feels great to get such value in return.

PROS: Owner personally attends to the daily operations, wide variety, good value.
CONS: Being refurbished, inventory is shallow. Don't sleep if you really want it!
