An awesome placeā€Ž
The East Bay Vivarium carries an outstanding array of animals and supplies, making it the best pet shop I've ever set foot in. Although parking is difficult (unless you get one of a few car-sized spaces in their driveway), you can walk to the vivarium quite easily after taking Bart or a bus. There was a contrast as stark as day and night when I compared EBV and Petco. My brother, an avid animal lover and possible future veterinarian, purchased his first two African giant black millipedes and his first leopard gecko from Petco. Soon after the purchase, one millipede died after being infested with fleas, followed some months later by the second, who also died of flea infestation; the leopard gecko suffered the same fate. My brother went back to Petco and observed that 99% of the vivarium animals there were infested with fleas or were sick with cryptoscridium; plus the staff knew absolutely nothing about any of the animals and were completely indifferent to the animals' plight. My ...

East Bay Vivarium by Michael N. at InsiderPages
The only place I know of that has the most lizards, snakes, turtles, frogs, and spiders than animal planet on T.V. It's almost a jungle in this place when I go inside. The staff are great and patient with all the unknowledgeable questions I have for them. My nephew loves it when I take him here for a visit.

Enter the wild by christopher m. at InsiderPages
I think East Bay Vivarium has the largest selection of reptiles anywhere. It wouldn't surprise me if they had more than the museums or zoos. They have snakes, rodents, lizards, and many more. The staff have know and have information for complete care of anything you buy there. Prices are good and location is right off the freeway.

It's like a zoo! by mariam e. at InsiderPages
Even if you don't want to purchase animals, if you just want to just browse, this is a pretty awesome place. Giant snakes, lizards, insects...it's got everything a 10 year old boy (and sometimes girl) needs to be terribly happy.

Free visit by Ben K. at InsiderPages
This place should charge to get in here. They have some of the wildest animals you can own in your home. These reptiles are hard to find and the staff knows a lot about each one. The service here is great and knowledgeable. I haven't purchased anything from here but only go here to visit.
