This used to be my favorite thrift store, but now I don't ever go in there. Now they have a lot of high priced junk, especially furniture, which they try to sell for close to retail prices. It's old stuff, a lot of traditional furniture, that has been donated by the elderly citizens of Hallandale who have moved into assisted living residences.

They do not give you ice in the winter at Douglas Gardens. One time I attempted to see if they would go down a little on this overpriced accent table and they wouldn't budge on the price. Well, the table never budged either. It's probably in the same place, pining for someone to buy it!

PROS:
CONS: too overpriced for a thrift store

Douglas Gardens Thrift is a huge store with lots of items, especially clothes, but many of the things to buy are old and damaged. If you hunt, you may find something to your liking.

It is good for furniture which you can buy cheaply and have redone. Many of their larger pieces, however, are pretty expensive, so be prepared to pay good money if you want something that is older, but very sturdy and made well.

PROS: big selection, easy parking
CONS: poor dressing area to try on clothes
