I have to agree with all of the posts up to this point.
I have to agree with all of the posts up to this point. Yesterday my fella had what may be a stomach virus but was very dehydrated. We called the nurse line for our insurance company and based on their questions, he needed to get some IV fluids. We called our primary care physician and they do not do that work - we would have to be admitted to the hospital - probably the emergency room. We called Doctor's Urgent Care and they could provide the IV fluids. After a short wait (any wait seems long when you are ill but MUCH better than having to go to the hospital or to try to get a last minute appointment with the primary care physician), they determined it was highly recommended that we get the IV... they hooked us up and started the drip. We saw Dr Preston and he was wonderful. He performed diagnostic tests, explained what he was doing and why, and we participated in our treatment. In discussions, it was said that primary care physicians treat well people, urgent care physicians treat sick people. It is a shame that has to be the way it is here in Slidell but that seems to be the norm. I wish I could have Dr Preston as my primary care doctor. He is patient and provides excellent service. You leave the doctors office knowing it was the right choice.

Unfriendly Staff‎
I was very disappointed with the service. The staff at the front desk speaks to you in an uncaring, monotone manner, and NEVER smiles.. A word to you girls: You're dealing with people who are ill, weak, afraid, feeling bad, hurting, and sometimes feel like they're gonna die. You're working at an URGENT CARE clinic and NOT at the K-Mart exchange counter. These CUSTOMERS are paying your salary. The least you could do is show some compassion for them, instead of giving them a "ho-hum, whatever" attitude. The next time I need urgent care, I'll just go to a regular hospital ER.‎

What RUDE people‎
Went in the AM to try and get some care and the people behind the counter were VERY rude. The waiting room was full so I descided to come back later. Then I called on the phone and Kathy was very rude again on the phone. Ending up using a different health care facility.‎

I have to agree. Dr. Preston is AWESOME. I chose to bring my six-year old daughter to this clinic after reading the prior reviews on it and Dr. Preston. We have Blue Cross LA HMO, and since my daughter's primary care pysician was out of the office (and two hours away), I decided to take her to Doctor's Urgent Care to get checked for strep throat. Dr. Preston is so unlike any other urgent care or emergency room physician I've ever met. He gained my trust immediately, which isn't at all an easy feat. There's a bit of a wait, though not long at all by metro New Orleans standards. Of course, that's to be expected when waiting for a doctor who goes "above and beyond" the call of duty, listening to his patients, answering their questions and fully explaining his diagnosis'.

My experience at Urgent Care of Slidell was the best. I did not have to wait long to be seen and the attending Physician, Dr. Charles Preston, was wonderful. He took a lot of time with me, ran necessary tests and reviewed the results and explained it all in detail so that I could understand it.
