It's hard to find a primary care doctor in Monterey who will take new patients, and then if they do, they probably won't accept your insurance. Doctors on Duty doesn't require an appointment, they're open extended hours and on weekends, and they take my Blue Cross insurance. There are multiple locations in Monterey (and Salinas) The clinic on Lighthouse is newer, but the Fremont clinic has one of the best physicians around (Dr. D'Ambrosio). If you don't have a primary care physician but need to see a doctor for something that doesn't require an emergency room visit, I recommend Doctors on Duty.
