Great local place for the family‎
Nice staff, very kid friendly and interesting enough terrain for when the parents can peal off for a couple of runs. It's not Squaw, Alpine or even Mt Rose so don't come expecting steep runs. Think family runs, friendly staff and small scale and you'll be happy with your day. FYI - kid's ski school is on your immediately left at the base, just walk in and they'll get you taken care of. Good idea to book lessons a day ahead, as it is with any popular resort, and know what their schedule is. I managed to get a schedule and lessons booked in about 5 minutes, but then again I asked someone. Seems kind of unfair to trash the resort when you weren't prepaired or didn't simply ask someone for help. (and no, I don't work there). I skiied there yesterday and did not have any problem with the lifts...‎

Great place for children under 5,...‎
I've skied Diamond Peak since 1999 and lived in Incline Village since 2001 and I've always said Diamond Peak is a great locals ski area. Small, but uncrowded with good terrain. Unfortunately this year Diamond Peak has decided to be child focused. To this end they've piled up snow so very small children can easily load/unload from the lifts. What this means to adults is the chairs hit the back of your boots, and require a twisting action that will leave you with knee pain before you get to ski.‎

Diamond Peak‎
I have mixed reviews for this place. Yes, there is ample parking and many parking attendants directing traffic! Yes, the shuttle service from the parking lot to the resort is excellent! But, the Child Ski Center is so confusing! Do you pay first? If so, where do you pay? Do you register first? If so, where do you register? Stand in line for one hour before class start? With kids? Not very fun! Stood in line for the first group lesson of the day but eventually found out the class was full. After returning to the resort and standing in line at 1215pm to register at 1pm for the 2pm class...yes, confusing....my children were given spots in the class. Thank goodness the instructors were great and very attentive after all the rig a ma roll!‎

Long lines and only 4 lifts running‎
Diamond Peak pride themselves of being the family friendly “no lift line” resort. Not anymore. While they have been bring in skiers in record number they have kept 2 of their 6 lifts closed this season, leaving visitors with long lines and less variety. Even throughout New Year and Christmas they sold tickets and season passes to a six lift resort with no intension of ever running them. When you disrespect your customers you don't deserve their business. I know I will go somewhere else next year. Penny Smart, Pound Foolish.‎

Diamond Peak Skii Resort‎
Me and husband registered for beginners lessons(adult) here and it was horrible. The teacher/coach had no patience. It was so obvious that we are beginners and needed more help with balancing. I guess his name was Barry...He made us feel like we are dumb or so....Will never go there again. I guess Northstar is bigger and have better teachers there.‎
