Transmission shops should be reviewed based on the quality and performance of their work and products. I purchased a rebuilt manual transmission from Desert Gear (a one man operation), and so far (~4 wks.) it has had no issues. He has a good reputation in Tucson and is customer friendly. As my transmission is working well thus, I would recommend Desert Gear.‎
