Response to Owner's Post About Me
Teresa,
You seem tenaciously to hold onto your delusion that I preferred to use Meadowlake, despite the fact that it cost me nearly $500 to board them there that weekend so I could continue with my travel plans. You also continue to state that I had 'no-showed' over Christmas - which is a flat-out lie. I did NOT no-show then, nor did I no-show on the 4th of July weekend. I arrived with all 3 dogs 15 minutes before you were expecting me at 9AM on 7/3/09 and was intending to leave them there and be on my way to Canyon Lake, TX.
I had reserved the suite based on my previous observation that the suites had open doors with gates and were clean and quiet. The changes that you made to the suite area included closed doors - no gates (in essence locking the dogs up in a closet) and the suite I was shown as the one I'd reserved, was occupied and filthy with feces. I was unwilling to leave my dogs in such a situation.
The BBB rated your establishment a 'D-' based on my complaint. Seems they agreed with my side of the case. Anyone who knows the BBB knows that they can't force any business to issue a refund. And I find it hard to believe that you didn't leave the chihuahuas in the room that I paid for that weekend.
As for the money...I find it interesting that you state a reliance on just 3 suites as your major revenue for such a busy weekend. Let's do the math, shall we?
Assuming that each of the suites would be the same cost as mine, $300 x 3 = $900 (all paid in advance which means that you had the opportunity to invest that money in an interest bearing account) was the amount of revenue from the dogs in the suites. By your own admission that was your "busiest time of the year" and you had 40 dogs in the cage free area. At $25/day per dog that is $3000 revenue generated by the dogs NOT in the private suites for the same three day weekend.
My intention for writing my review was to make it clear to the public looking for boarding services of the poor customer service you render. The fact that you wouldn't even give the $300 you refuse to refund to me for services not rendered to a tax-deductible organization that rescues dogs speaks for itself.
