Knowledgeable and honest auto repair shop
I have been bringing my (3) cars here for the past 4 years and have always gotten great service. They are reasonable, do great work and, best of all, explain what they are doing.

Whenever a friend tells me that they need expensive work done on their cars, I send them to John at Dayton. Everyone I have sent there has had their work done there and are glad they did.

The folks at Dayton are honest and friendly. They also are happy to shuttle you to and from the shop.

Honest review...
Okay, so let's begin by saying I have two vehicles, a Land Rover Discovery and 745Li BMW, both of which have been brought to Dayton's for service. I'm not entirely sure why others would mention a lack of customer service or explanation, because in my experience I have gotten quite a thorough explanation and not at the speed of light. Also in terms that I can understand. I do agree, however, that there are some things they charge a little excessively for, only because I know I have taken it to one other place and they were able to provide certain services for substantially less. I think it's a comparison shop sort of thing. For the basics, they do a great job. Sometimes I think they push a little too much to have certain services done, but I think they have your best interest in mind, not as a money-making ploy, and I would like to think I'm not all that naive. I think that Jamie and Cherie are both quite friendly and Jamie, in particular, is quite knowledgeable. Only one complaint: I was told that they would advocate for us with the dealer, we never heard back. It was unusual, because we typically ALWAYS hear back. My intention here is to give you a balanced review of the shop, and I would definitely recommend it. No one place is ever going to be exactly perfect...to be human is to err, but as far as automotive shops go, this has to be one of the best. It's hard to find an honest shop, so this just might be the ticket.

Best Land Rover Repairs!!
I have 2002 Range Rover! Before you grimace, understand I do a lot of business in Placerville, CA. Commuting from the Bay Area, throughout the year. So YES I actually need my SUPER utility vehicle. Anyways I had some serious overheating problems throughout the winter. Although it was throwing codes, the check engine light would go on and off, and there were no visible problems. I brought the vehicle to the dealer 7 times from November 2007-to March 2008. I spent almost $2500.00 at the dealer on diagnostics, and minor repairs. Never did they fix my overheating problems. Anyway I found Dayton Automotive online, the service was great, the technicians were knowledgeable and able to explain the situation to me. The performed the repairs, and I haven't overheated since. The expense was high, (not higher than the dealer I checked), but WORTH IT. 5 Stars all the way! Thanks guys!...and Ladies!

BEST AUTO REPAIR
I found this shop on accident. This shop has an eclectic vibe to it. An automotive shop with all these antiques, old coca cola knick-knacks, Disney collectibles, radio's and such. Very Odd. Strangely it is also very clean. Back to the important stuff....I brought my 2003 Chrysler Mini-van in for my 60k service. They also let me know about other issues going on with my car. Issues that were covered under warranty. Needless to say I brought my van to the dealer and they couldn't 'reduplicate' the problem, and it wasn't a problem that needed to be reduplicated. I called Cherie at Dayton Automotive, and she told me to bring the vehicle back to them and they would handle the whole problem, and they did. They took the vehicle to the dealer for me, had everything replaced, without a penny from me. I felt like I had stepped back into a time machine, great customer service, they served me a fresh cup of coffee, they cared, and to top it all off, a little man drove out of the back of the shop in a old jalopy of a vehicle, they experience brought me back to another era. 5 STARS!
