Always a great experience! by Audrey A. at InsiderPages
I've gone to Day Spa in the City for various services, including waxing, haircut/color and massages. Evon, Joanie and Judy, respectively, have always done a great job and provided excellent service! The overall atmosphere is always positive and the ladies there are wonderful. I won't go anywhere else!

Warm, friendly professionals by Allison K. at InsiderPages
I discovered this spa when I met friends for lunch at D.Z. Akin's. (It's right across the parking lot.) I stopped in and made an appointment for a micro dermabrasion treatment with Yvonne the aesthetician. She is a friendly French lady who had her training in Europe and seems to be very experienced. This was my first time and I expected to have blotchy red spots afterward, but I didn't. My skin felt clean and hydrated, and the spots I have from sun damage were definitely lighter. The treatment cost $90 and included a facial massage, exfoliation, and moisturizing mask.

Pros: Nice people, clean facilities, good pricing, experienced operators, delicious complimentary cappuccino.
Cons: Parking at lunchtime can be problematic because of the restaurant. You might want to keep that in mind while making your appointment.

Very nice experience! by Aleta E. at InsiderPages
I have always had problem hair--very fine and thin, with an enormous cowlick in the back of the crown, and straight except for a weird S-shaped wave in the back. Thanks to genetics, lately I have begun seeing white strands of hair coming into my bangs. I want highlights, but not white ones, for heaven's sake!

Anyway, I decided to call Day Spa in the City for the first time because it's near my home. They gave me an appointment with Elaine, who had a lot of experience but was new to this location. (This was Labor Day weekend 2007.)

I told Elaine I wanted something layered, and I wanted GOLD highlights, not WHITE. We picked a photo in one of her style books and she gave me a style that didn't require me to fight my natural wave, and didn't need a lot of fussing in the morning to tame the cowlick.

As for color, she did something really clever: first she wove in (painted with foil--I don't know what the correct term for that is) some all-over highlights with bleach, then after they were completely white, she used a golden blond dye over all my hair. The effect was that my white highlights (both natural and newly-added) were now golden blond just the way I wanted them, and the rest of my ash-brown hair (aka mousy) now had a beautiful warm cast to it. The effect was absolutely stunning. My husband thought it was the best style/color I've had in years, and I keep getting compliments on it even after two months.

As for helping other clients, Elaine was able to slip a gentleman into her chair for a fast trim while my hair was processing, but this is a common practice at other salons I've been to and didn't bother me at all. I think the previous reviewer should have given them a chance to correct the problem, since they offered.

I intend to keep going to Elaine at Day Spa in the City and try their other services as well. The atmosphere is very relaxing and cozy, price

Worst Service
I asked for my hair to be dyed -- I showed 3 pictures.
She [Ellaine] was late to start (15 minutes).
She left the dye in my hair for an hour and 15 minutes after I had said something. She checked on it after 20 minutes and not after that (in the beginning she said 40 minutes).
She gave a tour of the place (1 person) did 2 other peoples' hair === total helping 3 people while I sat there and waiting for her to HELP ME!
My hair was purple when i left. The pictures I showed were of people that had red hair. I told her that I worked with elderly people and I wanted a NATURAL look. PURPLE HAIR IS NOT NATURAL.
When I called the front desk, they did not try to help me out. Are you going to come back in or not because we are very busy Well I would like to get help but I do not want someone to ruin my hair again Well what do you want
Forget it. I went somewhere else. It wasn't about the money.
I had to redye my hair -- Rocio in Robert's was very helpful. I will be posting this elsewhere. If you choose to go to go here, good luck.
