never have I been so uncomfortable
worst experience of my life. My back was sore for two weeks. The seats were full of loose springs and chewing gum covered the floor. Never again. If you are going to go make sure and bring a pillow.

avoid mega theater crowds, prices & charecterless feel
great place to see a movie, in the neighborhood, cozy seats, great ambiance, easy street parking, great restaurants walking distance. True-could use a cleaning, but it's so dark in there, who can tell?

Cons: are there any? maybe could use 1 more screen, but now I'm just picking.

Quaint theatre in Lincoln Square! by nancy d. at InsiderPages
The Davis Theater has tons of charm and character, but not very many modern amenities. If you don't care about stadium seating and surround sound, though, definitely check this place out. The concessions are dirt cheap, and so are the tickets. There are tons of great restaurants nearby, so it's a great spot for a fun dinner/movie date.

Parking is difficult if the lot on the LS corner is full.

PROS: cheap tickets and concessions, lots of character
CONS: uncomfortable seats, doesn't show lots of films at once

A blast from the past! by Robert L. at InsiderPages
Part of the charm and appeal to me is that it's not a chain, or a cold, impersonal mega theater. Family owned theaters like this are a dying breed that should be celebrated. I will admit that the screen is on the small side and the sound system is not state of the art, but the prices are very reasonable and it has vintage photos and pictures lining the walls and takes you back to a simpler, happier time. The theater features all new releases for a lot less than the bigger theatres.

PROS: Plenty of charm and character
CONS: Parking can be very difficult, restrooms are very old

Old School! by John R. at InsiderPages
If you want to be taken back to the 1960's but see the latest special effects movie you're in luck. The screen is about the size of most big screen t.v.'s these days and the sound is horrible. They do show all the latest releases and if the other theatres are sold out of tickets to your flick go here and see it. The have one plus, they have really good popcorn. It maybe that the popper has been used for decades, I don't know but it's great.

PROS: Always tickets available
CONS: Crummy screen and sound
