Recent Repairs to my VW Beetle by Kathy P. at InsiderPages
I recently had some rear damage repaired on my car at Darrell Allen. Not only was everyone I dealt with very professional, they were extremely friendly and resourceful. An experience that could have been a disaster, turned out to be very easy, thanks to these great folks. The repairs are top notch and the paint looks great. My car looked like I had just driven it off the show room floor when I picked it up! I would readily recommend them to anyone.

NOT SO TOP NOTCH
I took my black truck to have some paint work done and when I got the truck back there were white paint spots on my truck that appeared to be over spray from other painting going on in the shop. I do not believe those white spots were on my black truck prior to releasing it to them, I had never noticed them before! They would not take responsibility for the over spray, even thought their own Dupont Rep. would not say it was not their product and the owner admitted there are instances of over spray at the shop. However, I was promised it would be fixed and we brougth our truck back up to the shop where we were told it was a priority and that it would be taken care of immediately. My truck sat up there all afternoon while I waited and they never fixed the paint spots, they just demanded payment for the unsatisfactory work that had been done and they would not release the truck until they were paid. We had to pay them in order to get our truck and guess what, the paint spots are still on the truck. The owner assured me they have a good reputation and that they run a top notch business. I guess I really shouldn't be surprised at the service and treatment I received at Darrell Allen Body Shop if this is what the owner considers top notch.

NOT SO GREAT by Theresa F. at InsiderPages
I just had my truck painted and the paint looked good, but there were paint spots from over spray on the rest of my truck that they claim could not have happened at their shop. I thought that was pretty funny considering they admitted that there are instances of this happening and their Dupont Rep. who happened to be at the shop at the time stated two different times that he could not say for sure that it wasn't their product, the owner still insisted that there was no way it was their fault. However, the owner did promise that he would remove the paint spots and said if we brought our truck back they would take care of it immediately. We brought our truck back as soon as we got off the phone with the owner and it sat in their lot all afternoon and they never took care of the paint spots. They have been paid for work that we are not satisfied with. I quess once you pay them, you are out of luck if you are not satisfied. The owner assured me that they are a top notch business and that he would take care of this. Well, the paint spots are still on my truck, but they have been paid and I think that is all they are concerned about at Darrell Allen Body Shop.

I just read the response posted by Darrell Allen Body Shop(see below) and I have to say that he is a great one to talk about telling the truth. He outright lied to me and said that they would take care of the paint on my truck. He told me one time that overspray does not happen at his shop and then he said that it does. He said that he is not like other business owners who, once paid, will not fix a problem, which is exactly what he did. He sounds like a political candidate, not dealing with the real issue but throwing out things that have nothing to do with the facts. The fact is his own Dupont Representative said two times that he could not say for sure it was not their product. The fact is Darrell Allen Bod

Incompetent and Inconsiderate
I took my car to Darrell Allen after it had been keyed because my insurance agent told me that they did good work. Well, I don't know if they do good work or not because they never got to working on my car. I set up an appointment with them over 2 months in advance and they needed my claim number to get the estimate before they would set up the appointment, so obviously they got the estimate or they wouldn't have set up the appointment. By the time the appointment date comes around, they claim that they don't have my estimate, so I gave them my claim number again and the number to my agent so they could have the estimate faxed over to the body shop. Well, 3 days later I call to see when my car would be done because I had not heard from them (they told me 2-3 days when I set up the appointment). They woman I spoke to told me she would call me back when she found out. Well 2 hours later I hadn't heard back, so I call and ask again. The owner gets on the phone and tells me that they just got the estimate that morning, 3 whole days after my appointment date, so they hadn't even started on my car!!! Why wouldn't they have called me if they hadn't received the estimate the day I gave them my insurance information? Not to mention the fact that they lost the first estimate they had when I set up the appointment. The owner then had the nerve to tell me that I'm not even on the schedule and I never set up an appointment, and he doesn't know when he can even fit me in!!!!!!! When I told him I had a card that the receptionist had given me clearly stating my appointment date, he told me that he had "been in business for 15 years and deals with 25 cars a week and has never had scheduling problems." Needless to say, I told them to not bother starting on my car because I was taking my business elsewhere. I would NEVER suggest this body shop to anyone, regardless of the "excellent" body work because they are incompetent and inconsiderate.

Pros: I heard they do good work when they actually get to doing it.
Cons: Impossible to get in, and poor customer service.

So far impressed by Patti H. at InsiderPages
I just picked up my truck from Darrell Allen's and am over whelmed. It looks like I just drive it off the dealership lot. What has impressed me so much is the people. Each time I called I was able to talk to the owner and he took time to explain what was going on..if only my doctor would take that kind of time. The ladies in the office when I picked up my truck were so nice, the smiles when they greeted you. They actually cared about my truck and me. And to the guys who fixed my truck..THANK YOU!!!. the detail they did in cleaning her up for me to pick up...I will recommend this shop to anyone who needs body work done. Patti Hall
