Phone Service
I called in regarding pricing of a dress, they refused to price the dress over the phone and said I would have to come in, which means they are probably far too expensive. Being that I live in Rock Hill, driving around store-to-store just is not convenient. Check with The Wedding Mall - first, they actually gave a quote over the phone and, second, we're the best price within a 25 mile radius, the next closest one was still $10 more.

Great experience!
I went to Dar-Lynn's to shop for a wedding gown recently. I found that they had a very wide selection of the designer I was interested in. I was assigned to a VERY nice and helpful sales associate. She was not pushy at all, and was very "hands off" so that we could look around in peace, yet would come check to make sure we were finding everything OK from time to time. When I was ready to try on my gowns, she would help me in and out of them, yet was not intrusive at all. I found the prices to be good - I figured the same gowns would be a lot lower online but really they were about the same (for that designer anyway, I didn't compare other designers' prices). It helps to go on a week DAY instead of weekends, when they are usually busy. Oh and the owner is not too friendly, my friend recognized her voice because she had called in the past to ask some questions, and said she was borderline rude on the phone (we even heard her speaking rudely to a customer on the phone while we were there - she was short with the person on the phone and said "we are extremely busy right now" (we were the only people in the store!!)). So, while the girls on the floor are friendly and helpful, upper management isn't too much... but I'd definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a gown by a designer they carry.

Disappointed by k s. at InsiderPages
I bought my wedding gown there and ordered 8 bridesmaids dresses from there as well. On the day I picked out my gown, Christa was wonderful, I had her undivided attention and she really got to know my style and personality. Everytime I've had to interact with them since, has been dreadful! They are always rushing around, acting like they have too much to do and not enough help. On more than one occassion, I had to sit and wait for over 20 mins for anyone to even acknowledge me and say We'll be with you shortly. (And they never really look that busy...) When my dress came in, they accused my mom of not having paid for it... and she had the cancelled check in hand as proof. Before the dresses for my bridesmaids were ordered, they accused one of my bridesmaids of not having paid for her dress, and she had the bank statement showing the withdraw from Dar Lynns. For giving some place $2500 worth of business, I'm very disappointed with the incompetence and disorganization of their staff. I always feel like someone else is more important than me when I call or go in there. It seems like they butter you up to get your business... and then don't have time to deal with you after that. Very disappointing.

Great dresses, great prices, terrible alterations!
I bought my Casablanca wedding dress at Dar-Lynn's, as well as my veil and all 8 of my Bill Levkoff bridesmaid dresses. I had a great experience working with Christa-she was personable, helpful, honest, and accomodating. While the shop exterior is nothing to get excited about, I wouldn't let it deter you from looking. I felt like they had a huge selection, all the manufacturers I was interested in, and enough space to shop and try on dresses comfortably. My dress and veil came in ahead of schedule, and storing the gown at the shop was no problem. The trouble really is with the alterations dept!! DO NOT let Linda touch your dress!! I bought the size I was at the time of ordering, knowing that it could be altered to fit if I lost weight. Well, I lost 20 pounds. Linda told me at the second fitting in May that I could not lose any more weight because the beading and integrity of the dress would be compromised if I did. She also told me I probably wouldn't be able to have a final fitting before the wedding in June because of PROM SEASON!! That place is loaded with teenagers....but anyway. So, I said Ok took my dress for pictures, and left. The dress was huge!!! Gaps in the chest, I had no waist to speak of in the dress, and the hem was lopsided. I realized how bad it was after seeing the proofs from my bridal portrait the week after. Luckily, I got the dress fixed beautifully at Park Road Alterations in Charlotte. I think Dar-Lynn's is a good shop, they are easy to work with, but I just feel like people should know not to do any alterations there.

HORRIBLE!!!!!
I went there b/c they have maggie sottero dresses. I made an appointment with a bridal consultant- and i had written down about 12 or so maggie dresses i had hoped to try on. I knew that they probably wouldnt have all of them- but i wanted to be prepared.
SOOO- first let me say that the outside looks like a dollar store with tacky signing. Then- we go in- and my "bridal consultant" i had made an appointment with- was a TEENAGER!!!! LITERALLY!!!! I am sure that she would've been great if i was looking for a prom dress- but she had no knowledge about wedding dresses!!! I gave her the list of dresses and asked if she could see which ones they had in stock- b/c i knew i definitely wanted to try them on- and well- they didnt have a single one. So- my MOH and I browsed around and I picked out a few dresses to try on- maybe 3 or so. The dressing room was kinda gross and the dresses seemed so cheap- although- that could just be a reflections of the surroundings. The girl waqs really nice and as helpful as she could've been- but i was extremely disappointed that they have untrained staff as a "consultant".
