I agree! Why would you look for a gemologist in a pawn shop?? The first review is silly and should be disregarded completely. As a college student on a budget, I look for bargains on creature comforts. I have purchased music, movies, a bike, tools and am now looking for an affordable television...Dan's offers affordable luxury products to those of us with minimal incomes. While I know my purchases aren't new, Dan's will let me try it out in the store before purchasing! The products are varied and there is always something new to choose from. I would recommend a student shopping for electronics on a budget to stop into Dan's before heading to Wal-Mart!

I have to disagree with the previous reviewer on Dan's. I agree that the jewelry they sell is not that fanciest or the best you can get but if you're looking for that kind of thing then why are you shopping at Dan's in the first place? If you're looking for nice, affordable jewelry or very affordable jewelry repair then Dan's is your place. My husband and I bought a wrap for my solitare there for our first wedding anniversary and I've had it now 5 years and get SO many compliments on it, no one would know that it came from just a pawn shop. Much of the jewelry they carry there is new, and not pawned, you can tell the difference. Our wedding bands even came from there - we got the comfort ones for $60 and $80 and the EXACT same ones were selling for $150 and $200 at Kay's! If you're looking for a deal on some nice jewelry - look up Dan's!

Yuck, this is nothing more than a pawn shop. They carry mostly new low end cheap jewelry. The employees are not knowledgeable about gems or jewelry and cannot answer any questions requiring any real knowledge of gemology. Nor are they very willing to help in many other ways. Not the kind of store I want to go into and not the kind of store I feel very safe in either. If you're looking for estate jewelry you're better off locally going to the Castle or online going to www.rosssimons.com and browsing their selection of estate jewelry. If you want cheaply made overpriced junk then Dans is the place for you.
