This restaurant looks awesome. The building was built in 1834. The brick walls are the only left that looks old. Everything else about is renovated. It is spacious with an open feel. Two levels have an open part all the way up. Some large round lights on the ceiling changes colors. It sort of feels like a 70's disco lighting. A wall of wine bottles holds over 5000 bottles. Everyone can find something they like on the menu: steak, chicken, lamb, pork, seafood. I order the Steak Diane. There are a variety of sides. The dessert menu has cakes and pies that are delicious.
Price Range: $25 - $50

Unique Restaurant by Shelley C. at InsiderPages
Cypress Restaurant is located right in the center of the Historic District on East Bay Street. The atmosphere of the restaurant is super chic and trendy. They have a 3 story glass wine bar that is really is eye catching.

We always order the steak Diane which is more than enough and get dessert to go!

exciting environment, great food by Valerie E. at InsiderPages
Cypress restaurant is an exciting place to go eat. The 1834 brick building is renovated into a modern environment with colorful lighting. It is pretty to look at. The food is great. The lobster bisque appetizer is a good choice. The smoked duck is seasoned wonderfully. The hickory cooked fillet is served with wine sauce and herbal soft cheese. There are plenty of choices for drinks. The dessert choices are all tempting. They have cake and pie that you don't want to miss. You have to make reservations or you won't get in.

Amazing food & atmosphere!
Highly recommend. We had a waitress by the name of JoAnn and she was outstanding (I would even request her when I go back!). The food was fabulous and the atmosphere was incredible. I will definately be making a trip back here!!!!

Cypress is a great restaurant!
Cypress was one of the best restaurants my husband and I have enjoyed in a long time! The food was wonderful and the atmosphere was great! Even though we were only passing through Charleston on our way from Florida back home to Pennsylvania, we would be very tempted to come back to Charleston to eat at the Cypress again.
