I like the idea of square cupcakes. It's cute. We got the minis and they were packaged in a beyond cute box with tulle ribbon which made for a nice presentation. Or it could be a great hostess gift. I just didn't think the cupcakes were all that special. They were a little bit dry and the frosting wasn't to my taste. Almost all of them had a cream cheese based frosting that was not sweet enough or had too strong of a cream cheese taste. I make tons of cream cheese frosting and just prefer it to not feel like I'm eating a brick of cream cheese.

I think this is a seasonal flavor but really liked the pumpkin cupcake. It has pumpkin seeds on top for garnish which helped make the frosting taste a little bit better.

I would definitely stop in here if I lived nearby but wouldn't drive out of my way to buy these.

I can't vouch for the service or the price since the only time I've had them was at a work function where someone brought in several different kinds..but I did absolutely love the cupcakes themselves. First off, the square idea is pretty intriguing just makes them different, they look gourmet and are presented well. The wide variety of flavors was great, I tried probably six different kinds and couldn't choose my favorite. They tasted fresh, better than a lot of cupcakes that are so processed. I really appreciated the lack of use of artificial flavors and colors. I think the frostings were my favorite part, they were very good. I was quite impressed.

This place is great for dessert. The prices are reasonable and the taste is fantastic! This is probably the cheapest cupcake place I've been to. They have an array of flavors and they are also shaped in squares, hence the name. The not-so-red velvet was my favorite. The frosting isn't overpowering and the cupcake itself wasn't dry or bread like. The staff isn't too friendly, they're not mean.. they don't greet you or look interested in helping. Parking is easy since its in a lot but there isn't any place to sit inside. They do have tables and chairs outside but no one sits there since its hot. The shop is small inside and for all wedding vendors, there is a wall where you can market your business which I think is cool. Overall, great place!

I have two little girls and one of them is of the perfect cupcake eating age (2.75 yr old). She LOVES cupcakes.

We have been to Cupcakes Squared quite a few times now and it has always been a perfect cupcake eating experience. (We have also been to the other half a dozen cupcake shops in San Diego and by far, this is our favorite).

Yes, the cupcakes are a bit pricey at around $3-$4 a pop, but all the other cupcake shops in SD are around this price range too....so this shouldn't be an issue unless you didn't like the taste of it.

We loved the taste of all the half dozen flavors we have tried over the last couple of visits!! Yum. Yum. Yum.

It's very fresh!! Some of the flavors are very unique. And they even make some of the flavors in mini- or half portions for the young kids.

So check it out for yourself. It's heaven in your mouth...
